“Hey, get a grip. These things aren’t human.” Another undead action movie. Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for a Korean post-apocalyptic action movie called Badland Hunters, arriving for streaming later in January. “One last hunt to save us all.” Years after Seoul turns into an apocalyptic wasteland, a tough huntsman takes matters into his own hands when a teenager he’s close to is abducted by a mad doctor who conducts experiments on humans. Nam San battles formidable foes in the wilderness with an array of weapons, from bare fists to rifles, with the intense action choreography that is a hallmark of Director Heo Myeong-haeng’s stunt work. Don Lee (Ma Dong-seok – Korea’s “Dwayne Johnson” seen in Train to Busan, The Outlaws, and The Eternals) stars as Nam San, with Lee Hee Jun, plus Lee Jun-young as his trusted partner, Choi ji-wan. Alas there’s no big ‘gator in this trailer, as seen in the first teaser trailer, but this still looks like a good time. Plenty of post-apocalyptic action to keep us all entertained for 1 hour & 47 minutes.

Here’s the full official trailer (+ new poster) for Heo Myeong-haeng’s Badland Hunters, from YouTube:

The story unfolds after an earthquake transforms Seoul into an apocalyptic wasteland. Don Lee assumes the role of Nam-san, a relentless wasteland hunter. In Badland Hunters, viewers will be transported into a desolate yet captivating landscape, where survival is a luxury and alliances are as unstable as the ruined world they inhabit. The film’s visuals will showcase a world torn asunder, with sprawling desolations and the raw brutality of nature. Badland Hunters, also known as 황야 or Hwang-ya in Korean, is directed by Korean stuntman / filmmaker Heo Myeong-haeng, a stunt coordinator making his directorial debut with The Roundup: Punishment (still finishing up) along with this new Netflix film. The screenplay is written by Kim Bo-tong and Kwak Jae-min. Produced by Byun Seung-min. Netflix will debut Korea’s Badland Hunters streaming on Netflix worldwide starting on January 26th, 2024 this month. Looking good? Who’s down?
