Tomei May Be Aunt May In "Spider-Man"

Posted on:

Marisa Tomei (“The Wrestler,” “My Cousin Vinny”) is reportedly the top choice to play Aunt May in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Marvel-approved “Spider-Man” reboot. An offer was reportedly made last week for the Oscar-winning actress to be the second member of the Jon Watts-directed film’s cast following the selection of Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker. Unlike Peter, the Aunt May character will NOT show up in next year’s “Captain America: Civil War” first. It’s uncertain where things stand in the deal-making process, and Sony and Marvel have made no comment on the casting, but hers and several other actors deals for the movie are certain to include options for numerous sequels. Writers are still…

Spider-Man Reboot Casts Marisa Tomei In A Key Role

Posted on:

Now that Tom Holland has been cast as the MCU’s Peter Parker, it was only a matter of time until Marvel and Sony turned their attention to the supporting cast for the rebooted Spider-Man series. Of course, anyone familiar with the Web-Slinger’s mythos knows that one of the most important people in Peter’s life is his aunt, May Parker, who raised the boy with her husband Ben after his parents died. That makes it one of the studios’ top priorities, and now it looks like My Cousin Vinny star Marisa Tomei has been …Click To Continue Reading

Iggy Azalea Not Leaving Britney Spears Alone, Blames Her for ‘Pretty Girls’ Failure

Posted on:

Perhaps it’s because there’s no melody and it’s mostly just Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears talk-singing, but it’s a surprise to me that their song “Pretty Girls” bombed since it’s a 90{b3ae250968d8f23e719051b6169795770f8fa3ba52727b590caa061262acf2ee} repetitive chorus. Regardless, their poor attempt at slam poetry failed and Iggy is throwing blame to Britney like she held Azalea at gun point to collaborate for the joint venture. “[I]t’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately i’m…

Paul Thomas Anderson Is Writing A Live-Action Pinocchio Movie Starring Robert Downey Jr.

Getty Image Live-action retellings of classic stories are all the rage – Maleficent, Wicked, Pan, Tink, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella (twice), Jungle Book, etc. – but I never expected to see Paul Thomas Anderson involved with one. Yet here he is in today’s Hollywood Reporter, attached to write (“with an eye to direct”!) Pinocchio, starring Robert Downey Jr., for Warner Bros. Though the film would seem far outside of Anderson’s wheelhouse, the move shouldn’t come as too much of a…
