The full voice cast of the forthcoming adult animated musical Hazbin Hotel has recently been released, and it includes some familiar voices. Created by animator and director Vivienne Medrano, the animated television show initially kicked off in 2019 with a highly rated pilot episode on YouTube and follows Charlie Morningstar, the daughter of Lucifer, as she tries to reduce the overflowing population of Hell by finding a way for misfit demons to be rehabilitated and accepted into Heaven. The show’s pilot episode amassed a lot of viewership and that prompted A24 productions to pick up the animated title for an eight-episode season 1 that’s set to premiere in early 2024.
As part of the streamer’s New York Comic Con panel, Prime Video has announced the cast of highly anticipated Hazbin Hotel season 1. The ensemble roster features a number of well-established names including Erika Henningsen (Les Misérables: The Broadway Musical) who plays Charlie Morningstar, Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Vaggie, Alex Brightman (The Blacklist) as Sir Pentious, Keith David (Community) as Husk, Kimiko Glenn (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) as Niffty, Blake Roman (Blue Bloods) as Angel Dust, and Amir Talai (Stuck) as Alastor. What Else Do We Know About Hazbin Hotel
Since Hazbin Hotel initially started back in October 2019, the 31-minute pilot episode, which reportedly took six months to write and was animated by freelance artists and largely funded mainly by Medrano’s Patreon followers, has amassed over 90 million views on YouTube at the time of writing. The success of the show’s first episode prompted a spinoff series titled Helluva Boss, which was also created by Medrano and currently has two relatively successful seasons out, with a renewed season 3 in production.
After several months of speculations and rumors, Amazon Prime announced that the eight-episode first season of Hazbin Hotel is set to premiere in January 2024 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. After the release date of the show was confirmed, it was also announced that the series had already been renewed for season 2, which will come as great news to those patiently anticipating its release.
As regard to the cast members of Hazbin Hotel, the news that the original voice actors who voiced some of the show’s characters are not returning to reprise their roles might have been disappointing for some. Michael Kovach, Elsie Lovelock, Krystal LaPorte, and Michelle Marie who voiced Angel, Charlie, Cherri Bomb and Niffty respectively announced that they would continue to support the show even though they were not asked to return. It will be interesting to see if the new cast members are able to replicate the brilliance of their predecessors and make the show’s first full season a memorable one.
