Several months ago, “Kick-Ass 2” director Jeff Wadlow signed on to rewrite the script and potentially even direct a cinematic reboot of the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” franchise over at Sony.
This weekend, Columbia Pictures Senior Vice President DeVon Franklin posted a photo on his Twitter account confirming that the latest screenplay draft (dated December 24th 2014) is finished. Whether further re-writes will be required or if the film is read to move on to a different stage of development remains to be seen.
Wadlow was one of numerous writers to have a go at the project and follows in the wake of “The Equalizer” scribe Richard Wenk, “Pirates of the Caribbean” series co-writer Terry Rossio, and “Predators” scribes Alex Litvak and Michael Finch.
