James Franco Is Bald Now

James Franco showed off his newly shaven head for Zeroville, a film about a man in the 70s so obsessed with movies that they become religion to him, at the Venice Film Festival premiere of The Sound and the Fury. Not only did he show up on the red carpet with a bald head and fake stache, he tattooed an image of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift on his head. Why? Because bald heads are the new frontier in advertising.

Franco said his red carpet appearance, where he was presented with the festival’s “Glory to the Filmmaker Award,” was pulling double duty as scenes from Zeroville. “He was filmed taking the stage in front of a sign for the 35th Venice Film Festival, which took place in 1977,” explained the AP.

So meta, man. So meta.
