Sinister Trailer for Dark Web Thriller ‘DarkGame’ Starring Ed Westwick

“I expect your death to top the ratings.” Gravitas Ventures has revealed the unsettling official trailer for a film titled DarkGame, a twisted horror thriller by director Howard J. Ford. Set for release in February on VOD if anyone wants to watch. A determined Portland detective is in a race against time to stop a twisted game show being broadcast on the dark web, where captives are forced to compete for their lives. The losers are executed via live broadcast. For the sadistic masked host, this is all part of his master plan to gain more ratings. Ed Westwick stars as Det. Ben Jacobs, with Andrew P. Stephen, Natalya Tsvetkova, Lola Wayne, Rose Reynolds, and Rory Alexander. This isn’t the first movie about a death game broadcast online, there are tons of them already, and this definitely won’t be the last either. This looks as exploitative and as gross as the game within it, with no real worthwhile meaning to consider, just depraved horror junk.

Six innocent victims have been kidnapped and held captive, forced to play out a deadly reality game show on the dark web for the entertainment of the criminal underworld who gamble on the results. It’s not long before viewers worldwide find themselves hooked on this macabre fatal game. All of which delights the presenter of the game, a flamboyant psychopath hungry for the fame & attention. Portland PD Detective, Ben Jacobs (Ed Westwick), heads up the task force assigned to the case. Events escalate as more & more people tune in on social media, and the stakes are raised even higher. Jacobs and his team find themselves in a race against time to save the captives. DarkGame is directed by English filmmaker Howard J. Ford, of the films Mainline Run, Distant Shadow, The Dead, The Dead 2: India, Never Let Go, Adventure Boyz, The Lockdown Hauntings, The Ledge, and Escape previously. The script is written by Gary Grant & Niall Johnson; from an idea by Tom George. Also produced by Tom George. Gravitas will debut Ford’s DarkGame in select US theaters + on VOD starting on February 20th, 2024 this winter. Look any good? Anyone in?
